For 50 years Griffin & Sinclair have produced high quality, bespoke and sustainable furniture.

As a small, family business we personally see every project through each stage; from the design consultation and timber selection, to constructing the final item and delivery.

Our ethos is to produce the highest quality furniture that is sustainable not only through material selection, but by creating furniture that lasts and can be passed on through generations.

We have won many prestigious awards for our innovative designs, which have also led to being named as ‘the number one bespoke furniture maker in the country’ by the Independent newspaper.

What we do

We have made pieces for lounges, dining rooms, bedrooms, conservatories, libraries and museums, swimming pools and spas, restaurants, offices, conference rooms, receptions and much more besides.

From dining tables to sideboards, coffee tables to reception desks, we create a wide range of furniture for all spaces.

How we work

We strive to ensure that you are involved in every part of the process and taking time to understand your needs is often best achieved with a consultation. From there we can work with your ideas and draw on our
own inspiration and creativity to produce a stunning design especially for you.

We take a great deal of pride and satisfaction in knowing that every piece of furniture is innovatively designed, perfectly functional and
meticulously made.

This exceptionally high standard is achieved by combining years of experience with a wide range of beautiful timbers from around the world, artisan techniques and a craftsman’s eye for detail.

Sustainability

We take sustainability very seriously and understand the importance of giving back what we take.

We purchase at tree through the Woodland Trust for every bespoke piece of furniture we make. As a customer, you will receive a tree certificate with your purchase.

We have a solar kiln onsite for drying our wood and keep wastage down to a minimum. What wood we do have spare, we use to heat our home. We buy much of our wood from FSC certified wood yards.

Most importantly, we strive to make good quality furniture that will last for generations. Our furniture will not go ‘out of fashion’ but will be passed down as family heirlooms for many years to come.

The team

Lee Sinclair started the business in 1974 alongside his wife Jill. In 2013 their daughter Rosalind and her husband Daniel Griffin joined the business.

Daniel has a background in graphic design but has taken on the roles of designer, delivery man, sales and furniture maker. Rosalind grew up as furniture makers daughter so has sawdust in her blood, along with a degree in Fine Art, so is well placed to be a designer and furniture maker too.

Lee and Jill have now both retired but are still very much on hand to offer advice and childminding, so that Rosalind and Daniel can head out on delivery runs, craft shows and spend time in the workshop.

Our small family team is complimented by highly skilled craftsman Nick Gilbey who has been an integral part of the business for over 30 years, and knows the high standards we look for.
