Mayoral Honours board 

We were asked to design and make a board which reflects the beauty of the building to display in Retford town hall.

It is inkeeping with its surroundings but also has a contemporary twist - the heraldic shield shape with the sword dividing the sides down the centre.

The piece is made of oak and walnut and the beautiful grain of the oak is bookmatched to emphasise the curve of the shield.

The emblem at the top has a hand-carved emblem of Retford - two brooding chuffs, as specified by the client.
