Longhurst drinks cabinet
This cabinet incorporates a full width drawer at the top for glass storage with a shelf at the front for serving. The lower cupboard has a tray set on telescopic runners, plus two adjustable shelves.
The design is influenced by the clients interest in rowing eights, the cabinet being situated next to the bow end of an eight used as a bookcase.
The convex lower doors and bracing echo boat building techniques and give a graceful line to what is a very large cabinet.
The concave curve of the top drawer visually counteracts the lower section, again helping to break up the mass at the same time as providing the serving counter.
